On Wednesday 30th September eBoneHealth replaces the 'I am not falling for you" bone health education programme which has been available since 2011. Over 36,000 people visited the web site so we hope we are equally as successful with the new version.

eBoneHealth also includes the Happy Bones project which looks at bone health and falls awareness in service users with an intellectual disability. Paula , Una and Chrissie are service users who have featured in a suite of differing educational resources so visit www.happybones.ie for more information.

Other initiatives are planned for development over the next few months and will include a series of short animations for young children.

The new programme will be launched at the Forever Autumn Community of Practice Falls Conference at Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital.

The programme comprises of 4 sections

  1. Introduction and Bone Growth

  2. Bone Health Through the Ages

  3. Osteoporosis

  4. Falls Awareness

Each are freely accessible for anyone to view. Please note these resources are only accessible from a desktop PC or Mac - they cannot be viewed on a smart device.

The content has been designed and developed by Daragh Rodger (ANP - Care of the Older Adult, Community) and Anne Spencer, Educational Technologist, Partners in Education, Teaching and Learning (PETAL).

Introducing the eBoneHealth Family

The education is centred around a virtual family and we would like you to be introduced to the differing family members in this short video. You will meet them again in the education programme itself.
